People aren’t homes.
Queen, King, why did no one ever teach you that you cannot turn people into homes?
People are rivers,
Ever changing, ever flowing.
They will disappear with everything you put inside them.
Still, your home does have a heartbeat.
But it isn’t one locked in anyone else’s chest.
Just look inside your own.
-Nikita Gill
I absolutely love this excerpt by Nikita.
In the past, I looked for love in the wrong people, because I forgot that the greatest love lied inside of me.
I helped build my lovers up, and there is nothing wrong with that, but when you are empty on your own love for yourself, you start to worship and crave others attention, you get frustrated when the feelings are not reciprocal, this leads to self-hate and self-punishment.
The greatest gift I gave myself was removing myself from the discount rail and marking myself as full price.
When you discount yourself, you attract people who are equally looking for markdowns.
Your jewel will be too bright for many people who are blind-sighted to see your full sparkle.
Please never make yourself homeless by sacrificing your sanity, by building other people's home and forgetting to build your own first.
Everything you need to build a beautiful home is inside of you.
You are the love, you need.
You are the peace you need.
You are the patience you need.
You are the builder and constructor.
You are the brick, mortar and cement.
You are the energy that lights up your home.
You are the security that protects your home.
You are a powerful being that your home needs.
Never lock Yourself out of your home.
Nobody's key can ever open the door to your home. You hold the master key.
Your home needs you and loves you.
