TEXTILES
Textiles have always offered me a way to explore the relationship between material, memory and meaning. I am drawn to the possibilities held within fabric, its texture, movement, structure and ability to be transformed through touch, technique and imagination.
My textile practice brings together fabric manipulation, embroidery, embellishment and the layering of materials to create surfaces that invite closer attention. Beads, threads, found objects and other elements become part of an evolving visual language, allowing me to explore pattern, symbolism, identity and cultural memory.
I approach textiles as more than a decorative medium. They offer a space to honour inherited knowledge, reinterpret familiar forms and discover new expressions through making.
Whether incorporated into wearable art, mixed-media pieces or sculptural creations, textiles remain an important part of how I think, experiment and give form to ideas. Each process is an opportunity to discover what a material can become and what stories it
