Collette fringed cross body bag

The Collette is a reworked design from my 2009 recycled tee-shirt jewellery collection. This collection paved the way for me as a creative and designer. 
Not only did it broaden my perspective about recycling, but It also enriched and widened my design approach and attitude towards sustainability.

My aim for this piece was to recreate a fashionable, wearable art that has been designed with a different approach, incorporating some new ideas and materials that I have garnered over the years from my travels.

Each bead is sewn by hand for several hours, combined with fringe detailing which has been intricately cut, and made from old cotton jersey tee shirts and vintage scarves sourced from vintage shops down Brick lane, London. Each detail has a unique story which I've craftily curated into this piece of collectable art.

Made from vintage hand-loomed multi-coloured striped anaphe wild silk Aso-oke fabric, crystal teardrop pendant, multifaceted crystal glass beads, glass beads, recycled African vinyl disc beads, recycled cotton jersey tee- shirts, vintage silk scarves, pom-poms, acrylic horn-shaped beads, faux amber beads, acrylic tube beads, cowrie shells, wooden beads, parts of reclaimed old pieces of jewellery and gold and silver-plated brass beads,
