This pair of earrings are so pretty and fun to make. Not only can girls and adults make these, but it's a perfect addition to any jewellery lover's coveted wardrobe.
I made these for the very first time yesterday at the innovative enrichment programme I run at my local primary school.
This jewellery making project went down a treat. Not only were the girls excited; for the very first time, as we chatted while creating together, they each made a pair of earrings plus a matching necklace and bracelet to take home with them.
Individually they chose their colours and patterns to suit their personalities.
This project in total took 40 minutes to make, of course, it will take slightly longer for a creative enthusiast who is new to jewellery making.
You don't need to be an expert at creating this pair; this DIY jewellery making project is perfect for all levels.
Most importantly it's a fun project that can be enjoyed by mothers and daughters, or appreciated individually as a gift of your ME-TIME.
They are perfect gifts for someone dear to you.
I believe handmade gifts are most treasured because it comes from the heart and is handmade with love.
Without further ado, let me share with you the steps to make this pair of statement earrings.
Materials and Tools:
Round Nose Pliers
Flat Nose Pliers
14 x 50mm Gold-Plated Eye-Pins
10 x 15mm Gold-Plated Tube Spacer Beads
2 x 7mm Gold Plated Filigree Style Bell Bead Caps
2 x Gold-Plated Fish Hook Ear-Wires
10 x 8mm Marble Effect Glass Beads
20 x Orange Glass Seed Beads
22 x Green Glass Seed Beads
Thread the seed beads onto the eye-pins with the gold plated tube spacer beads
in the middle and seed beads on either side.
Repeat stage one five times, cut 1 cm above the beads with cutters and make a loop at the top of the eye-pins with round-nose pliers.
Thread the five beaded looped eye-pins through an eye-pin with the marble effect glass beads in-between.
Cut 1 cm above the marble effect glass beads with cutters and make a loop at the top of the eye-pin with round-nose.
Thread glass seed beads onto an eye pin, and pass through the looped eye-pins with glass seed beads in between each loop.
Holding all the beads so that they are aligned together, pass the long end of the eye pin through the loop and pull.
Thread the gold-plated filigree bell bead caps, marble effect glass beads and glass seed beads over the eye-pin, cut 1 cm above the beads with cutters and make a loop at the top of the eye-pins with round-nose pliers.
Open the loop on the earring hook and thread the completed earring onto it and close with a round nose or flat nose pliers.
Finally, repeat the process to create the other earring.
Instead of using the gold-plated tube spacer beads, you can use glass seed beads, which is another stunning alternative.
Have fun creating!
