The day before I turned 45, I sat with my memories quietly scrolling through years of my creative life. In that moment, I realised something I hadn’t allowed myself to fully see before: despite everything, I never stopped creating. A Day to Remember: Community Voices at Islington Town Hall

On October 23rd, I had the honour of speaking and exhibiting my work at the “Community Voices” event hosted by Residents Without Borders at Islington Town Hall. It was a day filled with art, history, and inspiration, from meeting His Worship Cllr Jason Jackson, Islington’s first Nigerian Mayor, to the trailblazing HW Cllr Valda James, the borough’s first Black woman Mayor. Surrounded by community leaders, creative voices, and Swahili cuisine that warmed the soul, it was truly a celebration of heritage, connection, and progress.
