Staying safe doesn't have to be aesthetically irresponsible. We can remain stylish while being sustainably conscious about our choices, and the value and joy it brings to our daily needs.

So, to make a great quality face mask that will last, and serve the wearer well, it matters to me to upcycle discarded articles of clothing and textiles, and use them mindfully to create one of a kind statement safety wear that is different from the rest.

I have crafted this face mask using various refashioned African textile fabrics.

All these colourful fabrics are then woven together with zero waste to create an interesting textural design. For the finishing touches, I have added green coloured pom-poms and red lips with claws. All these add to the eccentricity of this magnificent, statement piece of wearable art.

This mask is handmade with multiple layers which form the design. Beneath the assembled parts is 100% cotton African print, which I have lined it with another mixed African print cotton fabric.

This face mask optimises breathability, and it is very comfortable to wear. It also features para-cord straps which can be tied behind the head of the wearer.

This mask is not N95 or FDA rated, it is specifically designed as preventative safety wear to shield your face, mouth, and nose. The wearing of a face mask such as this could still reduce the transmissibility of viral particles by a small but significant amount, enough to make a difference to you and others.

This face mask can be worn as a headpiece when not in use as safety wear.
